Be a Part of History! The Record Smashing Tea Party

On Friday, June 10, 2016 The Town of Summerville will once again celebrate ‘National Tea Day’ by attempting to break a Guinness World Record.

Join in the fun and be part of history when the town makes from scratch a single 2,500 gallon glass of sweet tea will be brewed using SCE&G Natural Gas, local tea from the Charleston Tea Plantation, Dixie Crystals– the sugar of the south and a lot of local support.

An Adjudicator from the Guinness Book of World Records will be on hand to oversee, verify and present the record for the ‘World’s Largest Iced Tea’. We’re in the south so you know by ‘Iced Tea’ we really mean ‘Sweet Tea’.

The event will be held outside of the Summerville Town Hall located at 200 S. Main St.

The record breaking attempt will begin in the early afternoon to ensure 2,500 gallons of ice cold sweet tea is ready for your enjoyment by 5:00 PM when we kick-off the Record Smashing Tea Party.

At the party you can purchase a souvenir Mason Jar for $5 and treat yourself to as much tea as you like while you enjoy live music, dancing in the street, local eats & treats and much more.

Little Main St. and a portion of Richardson Ave. will be closed to traffic for the safety of event participants (same set-up as the Christmas Tree Lighting).
